Analog Systems

Course Objectives: The course will involve understanding the basic methods and theory related to design of analog systems and circuitry intended to be used for that purpose. Providing to students the basic concepts and the fundamentals about analog design.

Topical Outline:

1. Communications systems: introduction
2. Signal, analysis and transmission
3. Antennas
4. Modulation
5. Demodulation
6. Pulses
7. Multichannels
8. Active components and RF small signal circuitry
9. Power amplifiers
10. Transmitters and receivers



Grading (tentative):

  • Homework and special works: 25%
  • Labs reports: 25%
  • Examinations (Partial examinations: 75%, Final examination: 25%): 50%


Prerequisites:

Communication systems. It is supposed that the student possesses knowlegde of linear algebra, linear systems modeling, integro-differential equations and electric circuits basics with a level of mathematical sophistication programming experience.

Scheduling: This course is offered in spring period, further organization with all students will set up the final scheduling.
